EcoScraps-Organic Compost made from Food Waste

So what exactly do we do?

We transform leftover fruits and veggies into highly nutritious, 100% organic soil through a special process similar to composting. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Basically, we collect produce waste from grocery stores and wholesale food distributors, and then take them to our plant to be processed. All of the food we collect has gone bad and would otherwise be thrown away and taken to the dump. Our organic soil is perfect for home gardens, flower beds, potting plants and pretty much anything else that needs tons of awesome nutrients to grow.

 

Why is this so cool?

There are tons of reasons why EcoScraps is awesome, but we’ll just list a few:

1. You don’t have to worry about the ingredients we used to make it. Unlike other soils, we don’t use soil amendments that include nasty things like blood meal (yeah that stuff actually comes from BLOOD), bone meal or horse, cow, chicken, bat or any other type of animal poop. Just good old fruits and vegetables.

2. Our soil is so organic you can eat it…really! Now we don’t recommend it as a food source but if you happen to get some compost in your mouth while you’re planting some tomatoes don’t worry, you won’t die.

3. You don’t have to sacrifice quality. We ensure that our products have the same amount of nutrients that your plants need as any other product.

4. You can have a direct impact in protecting our environment. Using our soil conditioner removes food waste from landfills and decreases methane emissions, a greenhouse gas 20 times more harmful to the environment than CO₂. The production of one cubic foot of our compost mix reduces greenhouse gas emissions as much as you would if you didn’t drive your car for a month. Crazy, isn’t it?

Where are we doing all this amazing stuff?

Right now we have operating facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah and Tempe, Arizona.  Our compost products are currently sold in Utah, Arizona, Colorado. And don’t worry, we still have plans to expand so fill out the form at the bottom of the page and we will let you know when we are moving to your area.

How can you buy our compost mix?

As we mentioned above, currently we are only operating in Salt Lake City, UT and Tempe, AZ.  However, we sell our compost mix in several nurseries throughout the states of Utah, Arizona, Colorado. Ask your local nursery leader if they carry our compost mix to purchase some right away! Check out this link to see a list of all the stores that carry our products in Utah, Arizona and Colorado. Contact us if you need large amounts of compost mix to landscape your yard, a really large garden or something similar. We will do our best to meet your needs.

If you would like our compost mix, and live outside of Utah, Arizona, Colorado or Oregon, we have something smaller you can try right away. Here on our website we sell small 5 qt bags of our Compost Mix and Potting Mix. They are perfect for small pots or you could buy a couple and fill up a small raised bed garden.
