EcoScraps Bashas’ Launch in AZ
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EcoScraps’ Organic Soil is Coming to 68 Bashas Locations in Arizona
Arizona gardeners will be able to purchase EcoScraps’ organic soil beginning May 4.
TEMPE, ARIZ. (April 28, 2011)- EcoScraps is launching Clean Earth Soils Potting Mix and Compost Mix, on May 4 in 68 Bashas, AJ’s and Food City stores in Arizona. Clean Earth Soils Potting Mix and Compost Mix are both made from over 25 composted fruits and vegetables that would have gone to the landfills. Neither mix contains manure or petrochemicals, which are common ingredients in most compost.
“Fruits and vegetables are usually thrown away and put into a landfill if they are not used,” said Brandon Sargent, EcoScraps’ Co-Founder. “We changed that cycle by using those nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables to create an organic soil to feed your plants in an environmentally friendly way.”
Clean Earth Soils Potting Mix is used for indoor and outdoor potting. It provides nutrients plants need to grow as well as coco peat and perlite to help with water retention. It is $6.99 for one bag, which is one cubic foot. Clean Earth Soils Compost Mix is used for amending areas and raised bed garden boxes.
According to EcoScraps, it provides plants with the boost they need to thrive. It has more than double the nutrients of the leading garden soils and potting mixes. It is $5.99 for one bag, which is one cubic foot.
EcoScraps’ founders and executives will be at the launch explaining the process of how their organic soils are created. They will be giving away tomato plants throughout the day to customers.
“We will also be beginning a waste pilot with plans to expand food waste pickup to all valley locations,” Sargent said. “We are glad to be able to provide Bashas with a great product and also recycle their produce waste.”
