EcoScraps Cross Out a Commute

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EcoScraps Plans to Improve the Environment One Bag of Organic Soil at a Time

PROVO, UT (October 5, 2010)- EcoScraps, an organic soil manufacturer, launched a new program today called, “Cross Out a Commute,” which will improve the environment and raise awareness of environmental issues.

Each person who purchases a bag of EcoScraps’ organic soil for $12 online at www.ecoscraps.net, will be entered into the “Cross out a Commute” contest and will receive a bulb to plant and a terracotta pot to decorate by the end of December 2010.

Participants can email a photo or one minute video of their decorated pot to contact@ecoscraps.net. EcoScraps encourages participants to be creative and have fun with their designs. They would like to see videos of pots in unique places such as the mountains, ocean, lake, grandma’s, shopping, the circus, a concert, a party, a different state or country. The winner of the “Cross out a Commute” contest will receive an iPad, and a year supply of EcoScraps organic soil. Contestants will also be entered into weekly drawings for a t-shirt.

“This is a great way for people to be more socially responsible without having to change their routine,” said Daniel Blake, President and Founder of EcoScraps. “Pollution will be reduced, and you will get the opportunity to share a beautiful flower with others.”

According to EcoScraps, decomposing food accounts for one-fourth of the landfills in the United States, and produces almost as much methane gas as all the cars being driven.

“When a person uses a bag of EcoScraps’ organic soil, it is like parking their car for a week,” said Craig Martineau, Eco Scraps’ VP of Business Development and Co- Founder.
